ZLC or ALC blades, which is better?

Why ALC is Usually "Better" for Most Players
• Forgiving Arc: ALC creates a higher arc on loops. This gives you a massive safety margin over the net, resulting in fewer unforced errors during fast rallies. • Superior Spin: The longer dwell time allows the rubber to fully grip the ball, making it much easier to generate heavy, dipping topspin. • Elite Short Game: It absorbs just enough energy to keep your touch shots, service returns, and drop shots short and low.
When ZLC is the "Better" Choice
• Counter-Countering and Blocking: ZLC acts like a brick wall. If you rely on passive blocking or driving the ball flat off your opponent's power, ZLC is incredibly stable. • Compensating for Physical Power: If you have shorter, more compact strokes or play far from the table, ZLC provides the effortless depth and speed that ALC lacks. • Smashing and Flat Hitting: If your game is built on raw velocity rather than heavy rotation, ZLC will pierce through your opponent's defense much faster.
The Trade-off
• The ALC Downside: Can feel slightly "sluggish" or lack finishing power if you are forced far back from the table and don't use your legs and body to power through the ball. • The ZLC Downside: It behaves like a sports car with no traction control. If your timing or footwork is slightly off, the ball will fly long off the table. It is notoriously difficult to keep short game pushes from popping up.
